PORTRAITS

Of all the categories of photography, portrait photography is the most intimate; it is very much a kind of seduction. When shooting a portrait of a person or a couple, I must have their undivided attention. I gently coax the subject into the mood that I am trying to capture. Sometimes I have to contain the exuberance of a dramatic personality. Sometimes I have to draw out a bashful or withdrawn personality. Sometimes, I must recognize that sacred moment, and not mess with it. Just shoot it.
